One of the most beautiful widow species, the red widow features a gorgeous red carapace and legs with a highly decorative abdomen which is black with bright red dots with yellow to white outlines.
Widow spiders are web dwelling true spiders nutorious for their "criss cross" web patterns and having one of the stronger silks in the animal kingdom!
The web and venom of these spiders allow widows to take down prey much larger than them sometimes including small snakes and lizards fro some species!
We recommend setting these up with sticks, or staws or skewers to give the spiders many anchor points for their webbing. They also appreciate some sort of retreat and we do not use any soil so we can easily find these spiderlings.Â
Mist these twice a week with a light mist and that should be enough to maintain the humidity!
